New York, NY (PRWEB) May 15, 2013
Smartling, Inc. (http://www.smartling.com), the cloud-based enterprise translation management company, presents a webinar “Engaging the U.S. Latino Market: Digital Strategies, Ethnic Plurality, and Enormous Potential” with the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA), an international non-profit industry association for companies that provide localization, language and technology services, Thursday, May 16 at 11:00 am Eastern Time. To attend, please register here.
If the Hispanic market in the United States were a standalone country, it would rank among the top 20 economies in the world with an estimated $1.2 trillion in purchasing power. A diversity of nationalities and ethnicities is fueling the growth of the U.S. Latino market, which does not reflect broader market trends in technology use, media preferences, and product consumption. Marketers must take into account different language preferences and culturally relevant content.
The webinar will address:
The speaker is Nataly Kelly, VP Market Development, Smartling Inc., who has nearly two decades of translation industry experience, most recently as Chief Research Officer at industry research firm Common Sense Advisory. Previously, she held positions at AT&T Language Line and NetworkOmni (acquired by Language Line), where she oversaw product development. A veteran translator and certified court interpreter for Spanish, she has formally studied seven languages, and is currently learning Irish.
A former Fulbright scholar in sociolinguistics, Nataly lives in the Boston area with her husband. When she isn’t working, you’ll usually find her translating Ecuadorian poetry, writing books, and exploring the world (36 countries and counting!).
