Crayon scratch art is one of the classic childhood crayon projects. Using the combination of black poster paint and vibrant wax crayons, the picture will transform into a colorful masterpiece. Begin by coloring a white piece of paper with crayons. Completely color the page without leaving any white spots. Depending on the child's age, color in bundles to maximize the coloring effect.
Let the kids have a blast in covering their wax crayon picture with black paint. Children doing it for the first time will find this process a bit funny to cover their painting with black paint. After the paint is completely dry, let the children scratch the black paint by using bamboo skewers or chop sticks.
Another colorful crayon art idea is making beautiful glazed rocks. Let the kids find rocks with a smooth surface. After washing the rocks, bake them at 350 degrees for about 12 minutes. Place the rocks on newspapers and let the kids put on crayon pieces. They will be amazed how quickly the crayon pieces melt and cover the rock in a colorful glaze. These masterpieces make great presents for family and friends. The rocks will be very hot for a few hours. Ensure that the children do not touch the rocks during the project.
