ThreatMetrix Web Fraud Map

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) June 05, 2013

ThreatMetrix™, the fastest-growing provider of integrated cybercrime prevention solutions, today announces the immediate availability of the ThreatMetrix™ Web Fraud Map, a real-time display of global fraud attempts including account takeover, payment fraud and identity theft.

The map’s data is derived from actual customer-defined fraud scores used to accelerate, block, review or challenge transactions and logins in real-time. In addition to the ability to correlate global device, persona and transaction attributes, associations, and behavior in real-time, ThreatMetrix provides its customers with direct detection of malware, proxies, Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) attacks and stolen credentials used to compromise users and online sessions.

“On average, ThreatMetrix customers automatically prevent about 360,000 high-risk cybercrime attacks per day using the TrustDefender Cybercrime Protection Platform for Web and mobile applications,” said Alisdair Faulkner, chief products officer, ThreatMetrix. “That breaks down to about 15,000 cyber attacks per hour, which translates into a savings of millions of dollars each day.”

Web Fraud Map statistics are aggregated from the company’s TrustDefender™ Cybercrime Protection Platform and the ThreatMetrix™ Global Trust Intelligence Network, including 1,500 customers, 9,000 websites and more than 1.7 billion cyber events. In addition to the information directly gathered through patented device intelligence and threat intelligence, ThreatMetrix privately encrypts customer-supplied data and performs cross correlation on anonymized personas.

“ThreatMetrix Web Fraud Map is an industry first that we hope will educate people about the extent of the cybercrime problem,” said Faulkner. “If the mission critical Web applications that you rely on do not have adequate cybercrime protection measures in place, it’s only a matter of time that your identity, accounts, digital IP and money will fall into the hands of a cybercriminal.”
