Today, Insightpool, a social engagement automation company, announces the creation of an advisory board, naming technology veterans Steve Chamberlain and Mike Eckert as founding board members. Chamberlain joins the board as a key investor and advisor, while Eckert joins as a senior advisor.
Insightpool’s proprietary algorithms allow brands to delivery sincerity at scale by providing predictive analysis on which specific individuals brands should connect with, topics of engagement, and best times to interact. The nature of Insightpool’s analytic process is what initially drew both Chamberlain and Eckert to the company.
Steve Chamberlain has invested in more than 20 technology startups in the past 15 years, and was a investor for WebMD and Vitrue, serving as vice president of brand development for both companies. Vitrue, a social media relationship management platform, was acquired by Oracle in 2012. He is currently active with 10 startups, including Insightpool. Chamberlain says the need for analytics in the social media space, along with the Insightpool team’s tremendous work ethic and superior engineering skills, made the investment a natural fit with his criteria for supporting startups.
“Insightpool is accelerating quickly and we felt it was important to surround ourselves with the best technology, media and social media minds available. Steve’s background in social media marketing with Vitrue makes him an excellent founding member of the Insightpool advisory board,” said Insightpool CEO Devon Wijesinghe. “He has experienced firsthand the strong need for analysis in social media marketing, and we are confident he will bring with him great value and insight into the needs of Insightpool users.”
Mike Eckert served as CEO of The Weather Channel for 14 years and while there was instrumental in creating a brand presence in the digital media world. After his time at The Weather Channel, he served as CEO of Pathfire, a digital media distribution company, for almost a decade. He is heavily involved with several technology investment associations and currently serves as vice chairman of the Board of Directors of the Angel Capital Association.
“Mike brings extensive knowledge of the media and digital space to the table,” noted Wijesinghe. “As part of our founding board he will provide the team with necessary outside vision in this rapidly changing social media landscape. We plan to turn regularly to our advisory board as we continue to evolve.”
