Sofia University (formerly Institute of Transpersonal Psychology) Public Programs has announced a new professional certificate in Women’s Spirituality. The professional certificate is open to the public, as well as currently enrolled students pursuing a master’s degree in Women’s Spirituality.
Sofia University’s Women’s Spirituality programs are taught by an accomplished faculty comprised of internationally sought teachers, authors, ritual practitioners, and scholars. Faculty member Dr. Judy Grahn, award-winning author and poet, is one of the original founders of LGBTQ activism in the United States. Vicki Noble, co-creator of the renowned Motherpeace Tarot and author of Shakti Woman, teaches a rare course called Female Shamanism; Yoruba Chief Luisah Teish, author of Jambalaya, brings in Eco-Mythology and Ritual Theatre.
The one-year professional certificate in Women’s Spirituality offers an interactive online community for those seeking a distance-learning format. This unique program is ideal for those who have busy lives and are seeking an overview of the values of Women’s Spirituality and the Sacred Feminine. The curriculum includes four six-week long classes: Women’s Ritual Heritage; Conflict Transformation as a Spiritual Practice; Women, Psychology & the Sacred; and Creative Inquiry and Expression.
Sofia University’s Women’s Spirituality programs offer transformative, transpersonal education and cater to all aspects of the whole person: the intellectual, emotional, physical, spiritual, creative, and relational aspects of being human. For those who do not have the time or interest in pursuing a graduate degree in Women’s Spirituality, the professional certificate is an exceptional opportunity to delve into the foundations of the Sacred Feminine and to take away tools and techniques that can be applied in daily life in the workplace or home.
