The Connecticut Health Council, an association of health sector leaders who work together to promote Connecticut as a national center of health excellence and to improve health care and wellness, will host ‘The Future of the Healthcare Marketplace’ with Ian Morrison on Friday, June 14th at the New Haven Lawn Club from 7:30 a.m. - 9:30a.m.
An internationally known consultant and futurist specializing in long-term forecasting and planning with an emphasis on health care and the changing business environment, Mr. Morrison has written four books Leading Change in Health Care: Building a Viable System for Today and Tomorrow; Healthcare in the New Millennium: Vision, Values and Leadership; The Second Curve – Managing the Velocity of Change; and, Future Tense: The Business Realities of the Next Ten Years. Mr. Morrison is a founding partner of Strategic Health Perspectives, a forecasting service for the health care industry, and President Emeritus of the Institute for the Future.
During ‘The Future of the Healthcare Marketplace’ Mr. Morrison will speak about healthcare reform in the context of today's changing economy, with particular emphasis on both public and private healthcare exchanges, and the expansion of Medicaid. He will focus on how employers can expect to react to the significant changes in healthcare delivery we are experiencing today and in the future.
The Connecticut Health Council’s programming is designed to link the network of professionals across various components of the health sector, thereby increasing the number of people promoting the State’s significant inventory of health assets and resources. ‘The Future of the Healthcare Marketplace’ is the Council’s first event in New Haven.
