LONDON & SINGAPORE (PRWEB) June 13, 2013
StartMeApp (http://www.StartMeApp.com), the global mobile ad network and Latin America’s leader in mobile advertising, today announced that UK-based digital ad industry veteran Alexandra Toro has joined the company as UK & European Regional Manager, strengthening StartMeApp’s commitment to an expanded European presence and transfer of its corporate headquarters to London.
StartMeApp also announced the acceleration of Asia-Pacific mobile advertising operations, with the establishment of a commercial presence in Singapore under the direction of John Fennessy, who has been named Asia-Pacific Business Development Manager for the company. Mr. Fennessy previously served as European Business Development Manager for StartMeApp.
Alexandra Toro brings to her position as StartMeApp’s new UK & European Regional Manager 14 years of experience in the digital advertising, software and telecommunications industries, having worked during that period across most principal markets in Western Europe, in Singapore and the United States. Alexandra will be based in StartMeApp’s London HQ offices, where she will be responsible for all aspects of operations, business development and client relations with the network’s growing list of advertising and publishing clients throughout the continental Europe, the U.K and Ireland.
Prior to joining StartMeApp, Alexandra was the Country Manager for Spain and Head of Mobile for South Africa-based mobile ad network Ad Dynamo. Previously, she served as Sales & Business Development Manager for Buongiorno’s B! Mobile display ad network and Lumata B2B mobile marketing venture, prior to which she was Manager for International Partnerships at global mobile ad network BuzzCity, where she was instrumental in BuzzCity’s expansion of its network across the EMEA, APAC and LatAm regions.
During 2007-09, Alexandra was a Media Sales Manager in the Barcelona offices of Yahoo! Inc, where she both developed and managed online advertising deals for Yahoo! throughout the EMEA region. Her telecommunications and software industry experience includes a focus on customer relationships and adoption of SAAS software with Salesforce.com and work in the area of supply chain management for telecom projects in Iberia and LatAm with Telefonica I+D.
Alexandra has lived and worked throughout her career in principal capital cities of Western Europe, including London, Paris, Dublin, Barcelona and Madrid. She holds an MBA degree from Dublin Business School and a BSc degree in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia.
“StartMeApp is very pleased and fortunate to have brought on board as our new European Business Development Manager a digital and mobile advertising executive of Alexandra Toro’s knowledge and experience in our industry,” said Gaston Fonzo, Co-Managing Director and Founder, StartMeApp. “Growing at a rate of 117%, the European market comprises nearly a quarter of all ads served by StartMeApp in 2012. With Alexandra now at the helm of our European operations, that rate of growth in Europe is on track to really take off in 2013 as we ramp up our mobile advertising offerings for brands, agencies and content publishing clients throughout the European market.”
In the Asia-Pacific region, John Fennessy assumes the newly created position of Asia-Pacific Business Development Manager for StartMeApp. Based in Singapore, John will manage StartMeApp’s ongoing client relations and build new business relationships with leading brand advertisers, agencies and publishers of compelling mobile content across all Asia-Pacific markets.
“APAC is an increasingly important market for StartMeApp, accounting last year for nearly 10% of our ad impressions worldwide, at an annual growth rate of 115% – a rate StartMeApp expects to increase significantly this year,” said Alejandro Campos, Co-Managing Director and Founder, StartMeApp. “Working from Singapore across all Asia-Pacific markets, John Fennessy will be able to leverage his business development experience gained in our European markets to extend StartMeApp’s mobile advertising presence in APAC, effectively managing our ongoing client relations and building new business with Asia-Pacific advertisers, agencies and all leading providers of mobile apps and content.”
