The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) recently awarded The Louis Berger Group, Inc. (Louis Berger) contracts in the fields of logistical support, information management, clean technology and legal reform.

Last month, Louis Berger signed a logistics contract with the USAID/Philippines mission, valued at $8 million over a base period of three years and two option years. Under this contract the firm will provide logistical and security support, information management and monitoring support to USAID/Philippines activities in Mindanao, the nation’s second largest and southernmost island. Project implementation will take place in conflict-affected areas, with priority program locations in the city of Cagayan de Oro, Cotabato City, Zamboanga City, Sultan Kudarat province and the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

“We are pleased to remain engaged in a region where during the past 15 years, we have successfully implemented USAID’s most successful ex-combatant reintegration and regional development program,” said Charles Bell, group vice president of Louis Berger’s integrated development practice.

The firm’s previous engagements under the Growth with Equity in Mindanao contract helped accelerate economic growth and consolidate peace through infrastructure development, workforce preparation, business growth, governance improvement and former combatant reintegration.

Louis Berger also helped secure two indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contracts as a subcontractor, which will allow the firm to pursue new opportunities with USAID over the next several years. Under a Clean Technology IDIQ contract, Louis Berger will support Dexis Consulting Group in the promotion of clean technology policies and practices in critical propriety countries like Iraq and Afghanistan. The firm also will work with Millennium Partners under a Rule of Law contract for projects related to improving citizens’ access to justice, legal and regulatory reform.
