D4, LLC, a national provider of eDiscovery, digital investigations, information management and security solutions to law firms and corporations, today announced that D4 Senior Vice President, Peter Coons, has fulfilled all state requirements and has been awarded a Professional Investigator License by the state of Michigan. As part of the licensing process, Coons became a Certified Information Systems Security Professional(CISSP®), an elite accreditation in the area of information systems security earlier this year. D4 has offices in Grand Rapids and Detroit (formally Detroit Legal Imaging).

This license allows D4 to conduct computer forensics collections and investigations in the state of Michigan, complying with the 2008 law. “Our client base in Michigan is very important to us and we are especially concerned with fulfilling all legal requirements in order to support them in the state,” said D4 CEO, John Holland. “Peter brings a unique level of professionalism and the outstanding ability to handle specific client requirements related to the state of Michigan. In his role as senior vice president of strategic initiatives, Coons focuses on consulting with clients about computer forensics and eDiscovery best practices. He has experience in social media discovery, computer forensics, engineering eDiscovery workflow for law firms and corporations, as well as orchestrating large-scale electronic data collections relating to litigation, audits, and regulatory requests. He also has experience with media restoration, processing and production of ESI, and various forensic and litigation support tools. Peter has testified as a computer forensic expert witness in both state and federal court, and has been appointed by a United States District Court as a neutral third-party forensic examiner.
