The 2013 SUR/FIN Manufacturing & Technology Tradeshow & Conference held June 10-12 has been confirmed as an outstanding success by organizers, exhibitors and delegates.
Sponsored by the National Association for Surface Finishing (NASF), the return of an industry opening reception and “soft” tradeshow floor opening Monday evening was very well received as the perfect kick off for the Association’s 95th annual event. Additionally, a change of location for the Association’s industry awards ceremony brought an enthusiastic crowd to the NASF Member Pavilion during the opening day reception.
Over 2,000 delegates, exhibitors, and speakers took part in the intense 3 day event which offered just the right balance of networking and exhibitions, as well as an exceptional line-up of speakers coordinated by Technology Advisory Committee Chairman, Brad Wiley of Rolls-Royce Corporation, and a team of 10 industry volunteers.
Conference sessions included 70 advanced presentations and 3 keynote deliveries from Dr. Ken Mayland, President of Clear View Economics; Jim Blass, Director of Product Validation and Global Technology from Caterpillar, and Laurie Harbour, Automotive Industry Analyst and President of Harbour Results, Inc.
Presenters and delegates applauded NASF’s efforts in maintaining its focus on generating quality speakers, exhibitors, and attendees targeted specifically to the industrial finishing industry.
“We’re quite pleased with the 2013 SUR/FIN results”, stated Rick Delawder, NASF Board President, and President of Addison, IL based SWD, Inc. “Initial statistics are showing a 27% increase in attendance over our 2012 conference, and we’re receiving some very positive feedback from this event,” commented Delawder.
Plans for NASF’s SUR/FIN 2014 Manufacturing & Technology Tradeshow & Conference have been underway even prior to the end of this year’s conference. “We’re headed to Cleveland”, stated Waasy Boddison, SUR/FIN Steering Committee Chairman, and President of American Plating Power. He further stated: “Their new convention center provides the perfect venue for this type of event. I believe the success of SUR/FIN is due to our steadfast focus on providing a targeted attendance and delivering added value to all who take part in SUR/FIN. Cleveland will help to deliver both.”
