Salt Lake Regional Medical Center, Jordan Valley Medical Center, Pioneer Valley Hospital, and Davis Hospital and Medical Center are the first hospitals in Utah to introduce a new ER check-in service this week utilizing InQuicker, an online emergency room check-in service for patients.

InQuicker allows patients with non-life threatening emergencies to log onto UtahER.com and check-in to one of four Utah hospital emergency rooms (Salt Lake Regional Medical Center, Jordan Valley Medical Center, Pioneer Valley Hospital, and Davis Hospital and Medical Center) from the comfort and convenience of their homes. InQuicker is not an appointment or reservation service, as the nature of ER and urgent care triage does not allow for the scheduling of medical treatment. However, this service significantly reduces the wait in the emergency room by providing patients with projected treatment times based on real-time patient traffic. The InQuicker registration process asks several screening questions to identify the nature of the emergency. This allows the ER staff to be prepared to treat the patient’s medical issue upon arrival. In the occurrence of a treatment delay, InQuicker patients are sent a phone or email notification.

Currently, InQuicker provides services to 224 health care facilities in 22 states nationwide. The Nashville-based IT company has saved patients approximately 3,208,973 wait-time minutes since its creation in 2006, and that number continues to grow.
