Donate your old sneakers at a variety of locations to help raise money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training.

Tidewater Physical Therapy is an independent, out patient practice.

Tidewater Physical Therapy was founded in 1986 and has clinics throughout southeastern and central Virginia.

Sneakers. Tennis shoes. Running shoes. Whatever you call them, think before you throw your old ones away.

Tidewater Physical Therapy, Fleet Feet Running Shop, Running Etc., and the Virginia Beach Field House are collecting old sneakers in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake and Norfolk to help raise money in support of the mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society – to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

The collection efforts will run until Sept. 6 in support of Rose Wildermuth, who will run The Nike Women’s Marathon in San Francisco in October, and Vanessa Poland, who will compete in The Nation’s Triathlon in Washington DC in September.

In exchange for training and support, Team In Training participants raise funds to support research, financial aid and support for patients and families fighting blood cancers like leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma.

That’s where the sneakers come in. Thanks to Green Sneakers, these donated tennis shoes get a second chance at life as affordable footwear for people in need around the world. For every pound of gently worn tennis shoes collected, Green Sneakers will donate 50 cents to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Drop off spots are conveniently located throughout Virginia Beach, Chesapeake and Norfolk.
