C2FO, the world’s only collaborative working capital market, announced that founder Sandy Kemper was invited to participate in the Capital Access Innovation Summit held on June 11, 2013 in Washington D.C.
For the third time since 2009, the Small Business Administration and the U.S. Treasury Department have co-hosted gatherings that include entrepreneurs, government officials and representatives of the banking industry to collaborate about ways in which to strengthen capital formation for small and mid-sized businesses. From such meetings, ideas such as the Small Business Jobs Act of 2010 and the Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act have been born.
C2FO was invited by the U.S. Treasury to discuss innovative solutions to improve access to capital for American businesses in order to spur the country's economic growth. The main topics of the day included public and private capital markets, technology solutions and incenting large companies to promote small business growth.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Jacob J. Lew delivered opening remarks at the summit and Gene Sperling, National Economic Council Director, closed the event. They were joined by SBA Administrator Karen Mills and other innovative thought leaders from throughout the business and finance communities.
"We are honored to have been asked to participate in the discussion and applaud the forward thinking and innovative approach our government is taking," said Kemper. "This collaborative convening of the leaders of our government and private sector was highly productive and will lead to better solutions and structure for our country's financial markets and the provisioning of capital to the businesses that drive our economy."
