Dr. Liu, who takes on the position of Chief Data Scientist, is focused on driving results for the company’s clients.

His main role is to maximize the impact of the company’s retention campaigns by improving the prediction accuracy of its Customer Profiling Engine, a technology that analyzes massive customer data to identify the most appropriate steps towards increasing customer lifetime value. Dr. Liu is also providing thought leadership in predictive modeling, retention scores, and data science for the rapidly growing data science team.

About Dr. Liu

Dr. Liu has decades of experience in turning data and analytics into actionable business insights. Specifically, he is a known expert of developing scores with big data and an expert of studying marketing interventions by using advanced causal modeling. Prior to Retention Science, he served as the Chief Data Scientist for Customer Retention at iSKY where he led the efforts in developing innovative predictive analytics models and algorithms to serve iSKY's clients in industries including financial services, automotive, media, and government.

Prior to iSKY, Dr. Liu held similar positions for numerous companies, including IBM, RMA, Shopzilla, Zest Cash and RentPayment, where he developed predictive models and algorithms to improve marketing effectiveness, mitigate risk, and reduce fraud.

Dr. Liu also served as an adjunct professor of Quantitative Research Methods at USC and UC Irvine.

Dr. Liu received his Ph.D and Masters in Statistical Computing and Quantitative Social Science from Stanford University.
