“It is a positive shift to see companies expanding their IT function,” said The Intersect Group’s managing partner Wade Hughes.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) March 11, 2013

The Intersect Group, a national finance, accounting and IT staffing and consulting firm, released the results of their annual CIO survey, revealing projected hiring trends in Atlanta and Dallas for Information Technology functions in the upcoming year. The survey explores IT functions of Atlanta and Dallas based companies and whether they are increasing employees, the types of employees filing these positions and whether they will increase spending and staffing in 2013.

The survey results discovered that nearly 60 percent of Atlanta and Dallas CIOs are planning to hire in 2013. Additionally, the survey suggests that the majority of companies (37 percent) will hire between one and five employees and those employees will be staffed in a senior level (five to seven years experience), permanent role. Additional key findings include:

  •     65.2 percent of companies represented have seen increased revenues in 2012 versus 2011
  •     71.7 percent of respondents plan to increase IT spending in 2013 in comparison to 2012
  •     91.3 percent of respondents plan to either increase staff or maintain current level within their IT Function in 2013, comparing to 2012
  •     54.3 percent of those jobs being staffed will be staffed by permanent hire employees, while 23.9 percent will be staffed by contract-to-permanent hire employees

“It is a positive shift to see companies expanding their IT function,” said The Intersect Group’s managing partner Wade Hughes. “With the resurgence of bringing jobs back onshore, there is no doubt that jobs within the Information Technology space will grow and CIOs should be ready and able to staff accordingly.”

“The majority of surveyed companies expect to either increase staff or maintain current levels in 2013, a clear indication in their confidence in future IT growth,” continues Hughes. “Increased revenues due in part to technological advancements solidify the resurgence of the IT function within big businesses.”
