PASADENA, Calif. (PRWEB) January 09, 2013
The Law Offices of Donald P. Schweitzer, Pasadena's premier family law firm, announced today the promotion of Kayla Horacek to partner.
“The decision to promote Kayla to partner was an easy one,” said Donald P. Schweitzer, founder and partner. “She has been with the firm as an associate attorney for more than seven years and has developed into an accomplished family law attorney. Kayla has proven time after time to be an attorney who provides excellent service to our clients. I am looking forward to working with Kayla as my partner and expect our firm to be greatly improved by her management abilities."
Horacek is a certified family law specialist and is minor’s counsel accredited. She has extensive experience in business evaluations, complex property division and child custody issues, especially pertaining to high asset clients. In addition to her certification as a family law specialist, Horacek was formerly a behavioral technician for children with autism—a combination that provides her with a deeper understanding for legal issues involving a special needs child.
“I take the duties of partnership very seriously—it’s recognition that I not only have vested interest in the firm, but I am partly responsible for its growth and success,” said Kayla Horacek, partner. “Making partner is a culmination of that hard work that I’ve put into the firm for the last several years. I love the creativity it allows, as well as the opportunity to provide additional perspective to the team. Our firm has made such immense progress over the past ten years, which is a testament to Don’s efforts, but like everything, we have the power to make it even better with each decision, and I look forward to being part of the progress.”
Horacek completed her undergraduate studies at Santa Clara University and graduated summa cum laude, receiving her bachelor of arts in English literature. She attended Southwestern University School of Law and was admitted to the California State Bar in 2005. Horacek is a member of the Pasadena Bar Association and Los Angeles County Bar Association. She represents pro bono clients through the Harriet Buhai Center for Family Law.
Partner Donald P. Schweitzer—former police officer turned assistant district attorney—founded the firm, which prides itself on being progressive, proactive and caring. For the last 10 years, Schweitzer has built a team of young, dynamic and knowledgeable attorneys, who are experienced in all areas of family law and estate planning, and have exceptional trial abilities. Some of the firm’s key-strength areas are divorce, child support determination, high-asset cases (high-earner child support, premarital agreements, estate planning, etc.), business and real property valuation, retrieval of hidden or omitted assets and more.
The firm is structured to respond rapidly and proactively, moving a case quickly toward an optimal resolution. Retaining an in-house staff of legal personnel and utilizing today’s most advanced technological legal sources allows the firm to remain competitive in the Los Angeles area, setting themselves apart from other small firms but also positioning them opposite some of Los Angeles’ largest family law firms in the courtroom.
