The Prospero Foundation, founded by Ulrik DeBo of DeBondo Capital, is excited to announce that a microloan donation has been made to Murodoy, in Pendjikent, Tajikistan.
Murodoy is 46 years old, with four adult children who have now all left home leaving her with more time to help support her husband’s low income as a driver. Her plan is to start a business in Animal Husbandry (raising livestock) as she had experience within this industry growing up, and she already has a home with the right conditions to start the business. She intends to purchase initial livestock to look after, and breed, eventually selling them for profit at the market, which she will use to plough back into the business and help support her and her husband. Her eldest son, who has good business sense and great ideas, will manage the business side of things while she takes care of the animals.
The Prospero Foundation is excited to help ensure that this budding female entrepreneur will be successful, and a role model for other women in Tajikistan.
About Micro-lending with The Prospero Foundation
Through partnerships with local lending institutions, the Prospero Foundation contributes capital for the purpose of small business loans to these micro-entrepreneurs in developing nations. Through these partnerships, the Foundation helps small business people such as farmers, shopkeepers, and artisans build their businesses and in turn stimulate economic development in their communities. In this case, the loan is tailored to women who have feasible business ideas but lack the funds to get started. In addition to credit, these women also receive special training from the National Association of Business Women of Tajikistan to develop business plans.
