... our clients have come to the realization that the total cost of ownership for offshore software development, along with all of its associated issues, is not what was promised or expected ...

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) February 20, 2013

Earlier this month, CBIG Consulting moved into a second Chicago-area office location in Lombard, IL to support its growing corporate office in Rosemont, IL. CBIG posted record growth for its business intelligence practice in late 2012, and revealed then that plans were in the works to increase its Chicago-area presence with additional office space to accommodate its growing number of professional staff.

Late last year, CBIG announced the best year in its history with revenues up year-over-year by 40 percent in 2012. The organization also effectively increased staff personnel nationwide by 35 percent. Headquartered in Chicago, CBIG also maintains offices in San Francisco, CA, Boston, MA, and most recently in Denver, CO, which launched in 2012.

Principal Todd Nash stated that CBIG plans to add more jobs through CBIG ADC™, the firm’s American Development Center initiative, a new on-shore software development division focusing solely on business intelligence, data warehousing, and big data analytics solutions. Nash added that this division promises to be a more effective and economical U.S.-based alternative to offshore development, citing new data that evaluates this model’s hidden costs and challenges, including significant communication problems, disparate methodologies, and long time-zone delays. “Working through the cost-benefit ratios, our clients have come to the realization that the total cost of ownership for offshore software development, along with all of its associated issues, is not what was promised or expected and they are evaluating alternatives.”

Nash explained the center will provide entry-level IT staff an opportunity to learn best practices from expert senior team mentors, with quality assurance and training expenses under the CBIG umbrella, and provide a more competitive U.S. resource to customers that would normally go the offshore route in an effort to drive down the cost of technology. Given the large number of college students and young adults in need of jobs and the simpler, cheaper logistics involved in doing projects in the U.S., Nash and his team believe there’s every reason to recalibrate the offshore model and take it to the next level here at home. He added, “Corporate offshore experiences have provided a unique opportunity to increase American jobs, transition the talent pool back to the U.S., and provide college kids real potential to succeed. We’re excited about this growing trend and hope that more companies realize the value of our cost-effective solutions.”
