Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) January 20, 2013
The YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on January 31, 2013 to celebrate the construction of its newest branch, the Anderson Munger Family YMCA. This new YMCA will be located at the corner of 3rd and Oxford and will serve the surrounding Wilshire, Korea-town, and Hancock Park communities.
The YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is a non-profit organization with 25 branches in the Los Angeles area. The future Anderson Munger Family YMCA will represent the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles’ 26th branch, and will be for youth development, for healthy living, and for social responsibility.
“We’re very excited about this new Anderson Munger Family YMCA and this groundbreaking ceremony and beam signing will be a wonderful way to commemorate our excitement, as well as an opportunity thank everyone in the community for their on-going support of this project” said Alan Hostrup, YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles CEO. “We’re hoping to open the doors of the new facility to the public in the spring of 2014. Of course, none of this could have been possible without the longstanding support of friends and supporters,” added Executive Director, Laurie Goganzer.
The YMCA has a longstanding tradition of bringing together communities by offering affordable recreational activities for children and adults, as well as social service programs. This groundbreaking event for the new Anderson Munger Family YMCA will include a beam signing ceremony and speakers representing local community agencies and civic associations.
