Keeping vacations modest for a growing number of Americans

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 20, 2013

Nearly half of Americans, some 45%, will go on vacation this summer, according to a new survey from CreditDonkey.com, a credit card comparison website. While many plan to take a summer break, over 76% are worried about gas prices, 73% about food prices, and 48% are worried about entertainment costs.

Amid that worry, this summer’s vacationers will be cutting back. Just over 30% of vacationers said they will spend less this year on their vacation while only 24.8% plan to spend more than they did in 2012. "The economy isn't recovering for everyone, and that's keeping vacations modest for a growing number of Americans," said Charles Tran, founder of CreditDonkey. "We’re seeing a lot of people looking for inexpensive alternatives to a big summer blowout trip."
