Sohn & Associates, located in Evansville, Indiana, had an outstanding year in 2012. Much of the success is credited to the sale of Indiana farmland. Throughout 2012, Sohn & Associates auctioned more than 1,000 acres of agricultural ground totaling more than 8.6 million dollars. These sales were achieved by using the “Select-Tract” auction method.

The top three sellers for Indiana farmland sold by Sohn & Associates consisted of a 530 acre farm with recreational ground, a 190 acre farm and a 141 acre farm. The 530 acres, in Spencer County, Indiana, sold for 2.5 million dollars and had approximately 350 tillable acres, hunting and recreational ground, and building sites. In Posey Country, Indiana, Sohn & Associates sold a 190 acre farm with approximately 150 tillable acres for 1.3 million dollars. In Gibson County, Indiana, Sohn & Associates sold a 140 acre farm with 132 tillable acres and improvements for 1.5 million dollars. In addition to these three farms, Sohn & Associates had four other successful agricultural auctions.

Sohn and Associates helps land owns get top dollar for their farmland by using their “Select-Tract” auction method. With this system farms are divided into smaller tracts. By offering the property in tracts the number of potential bidders is higher. Each tract is offered individually and in any combination. The combination that brings the highest dollar per acre is how the property is sold.
