Seiz System Engineering is pleased to announce the release of its webcam software AbelCam® 3.0. This new software includes an expanded feature set for companies and individuals to manage their cameras. Using a standard Internet browser, users can view images and video streams with the latest technologies such as Ajax and SilverLight.

AbelCam also has the unique ability to operate the motorized pan/tilt feature of many popular webcams remotely from a standard browser.

Since the first version release back in 2005, AbelCam has been constantly improved based on customer feedback. AbelCam 3.0 is a full-fledged version that provides all the functions expected from webcam software: Multi-camera Support, Motion Detection, Video Broadcast, PTZ Support, Local Save, FTP Upload and more.

AbelCam comes with a complete set of web site pages which can be used right after installation. These pages can be used 'as-is' or as templates to use in any existing web site.

What is new in AbelCam® 3.0?

The latest version includes multiple Capture Interfaces. All interfaces do the same job but each does it using slightly different methods. Many brands of cameras will work with all interfaces but will run more efficiently with whichever interface is the "best match". AbelCam supports more than 1500 webcams, analog cameras with capture cards and TV tuners.

AbelCam 3.0 introduces a Plugin interface. Plugins extend the functionality of AbelCam and make use of AbelCam's embedded Web Server. Currently available Plugins provide browser based control of X10 home automation switches and dimmers as well as Velleman K8055 input/ouput devices. Software authors may write their own plugins, sample Plugin code is available.

This release of AbelCam is available in seven languages: English, Finnish, French, German, Slovenian, Spanish and Portuguese.
