The Alzheimer's Association has designated 24HR HomeCare as a preferred provider of its California Southland Chapter’s 2012-13 Respite Program for the City of Los Angeles. The initiative gives selected families free in-home healthcare services.
The institution's respite program determines and provides the amount of time and care needed to provide a full-time family caregiver a break to recuperate or to attend to matters in their own life. A municipal grant from the City of Los Angeles underwrites the program, allocating funds for up to 48 hours of complementary care. Services include supervision, meal preparation, personal care and companionship. All healthcare professionals accessed through 24HR HomeCare are trained and accomplished service providers as well as insured, bonded and protected by worker's compensation coverage.
To qualify for the service, a household member or care partner must be designated as the primary caregiver in the household. The recipient of the healthcare services must desire respite care, be diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or a comparable, memory-loss affliction and live in the City of Los Angeles.
Family's wishing to qualify for the service must call the Alzheimer’s Association at (800) 272–3900. The phone service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A prospective client must speak with a healthcare consultant to communicate the arrangement and needs followed by an application procedure. If a prospective client qualifies, a 24HR HomeCare representative contacts the family Caregiver to coordinate care.
