Newton, Mass. (PRWEB) July 23, 2009

The Jimmy Fund and UGL Unicco today jointly announced that the 9th Annual Jimmy Fund/UGL Unicco Golf and Tennis Classic and related events raised more than $150,000. This brings the total contribution of UGL Unicco's support of the Golf and Tennis Classic to $1.05 million over nine years, reaching the $1 million goal one year ahead of schedule.

In commenting on the events and results, Jimmy Fund Chairman Mike Andrews said, "This was an outstanding year for the Classic. Not only did they raise more than ever from our enthusiastic supporters, they also surpassed their $1 million goal a year earlier than projected. This is clearly due to the stalwart support of UGL Unicco over the years. They are a great partner for these events."

UGL Unicco Senior Vice President Michael Dunn drives the initiative for the company. In recognition of his charitable work, he was named the 2009 recipient of "The Steve and Rick Kletjian Award," an award established two years ago in memory of the Kletjian brothers who built UGL Unicco into a leading facilities services company. In 2008, Herb Landsman from TJX Companies was the first recipient of the award.

UGL Unicco's commitment to the Jimmy Fund runs deep. Dunn commented, "UGL Unicco is honored to support the Jimmy Fund and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. They sincerely care about their patients, offering them the best of care while supporting research to find treatments and ultimately cure this dreaded disease. UGL Unicco has supported this great organization for the last ten years as a means to help find the cure and to give back to the communities where our employees and their families live and work."
