I believe the whole curriculum is great. What my son needed was a challenge and an opportunity to show his abilities. That’s what Connections Academy offers.
Baltimore, MD (Vocus) April 2, 2010
Connections Academy (CA) (http://www.ConnectionsAcademy.com), a leading national provider of high-quality, highly accountable K-12 virtual public schools, today launches its 2010-2011 enrollment season for students in grades K-12. Parents’ and educators’ growing demand for CA’s exceptional public school program – delivered from the comfort of home – has spurred a 30 percent growth in CA’s national school network. As a result of this boom, CA will host a record 350 free in-person Information Sessions across the country and 300 virtual Information Sessions in the spring for parents seeking more information about CA schools.
At the events, parents will have an opportunity to learn about the CA curriculum, its proprietary online Learning Management System, and thoroughly explore the program. They can also interact with CA representatives and parents. A complete schedule with dates and locations is available at http://www.ConnectionsAcademy.com or by calling (800) 382-6010. For those unable to attend an in-person Information Session, real-time virtual sessions with a school representative are available. Through another option, Parent-to-Parent meetings, interested families have the opportunity to speak with current CA families in a more casual setting.
Prospective students and their parents can also learn about Connections Academy via numerous social networks. Families may follow Connections Academy on Facebook and Twitter, join a Yahoo group, watch videos on YouTube and read Virtual Learning Connections, the Connections Academy blog for families interested in supporting K-12 learning from home.
In the 2010-2011 school year, CA will open three new virtual public schools in addition to its existing 15 schools and will open another new school in the 2011-2012 school year. Kansas Connections Academy, Alaska Connections Academy, and Indiana Connections Academy Virtual Pilot School will open for students in the fall of 2010 and Utah Connections Academy will open in the fall of 2011. CA operates its schools in partnership with charter schools, school districts, and state departments of education. Most CA schools can accept students from anywhere in their states; some serve only students from specific school districts. Most CA schools serve students in grades K-12, and accept students entering grades K-12 in the 2010-2011 academic year. More information about specific CA schools’ services and eligibility guidelines are available at http://www.ConnectionsAcademy.com.
CA schools deliver top-quality, personalized education for students that combines certified teachers; a proven curriculum; technology tools; and community experiences to create a supportive and successful environment for children who benefit from an individualized approach to education. CA’s student enrollment and network of schools have both grown rapidly since CA opened its first school in 2002, serving some 400 students. Eight years later, approximately 20,000 students in schools across the country are benefitting from CA’s innovative public and private school programs. This increase in demand – both on the part of parents and students as well as educational partners – stems from CA’s proven track record in helping students achieve their maximum potential for academic and emotional success.
CA’s success has been documented by consistently strong student performance on a wide range of standardized tests, as well as honors like Oregon Connections Academy’s receipt of an “Outstanding” grade—the highest possible rating—on the 2008–09 School Report Card issued by the Oregon Department of Education. Equally significant, in every annual parent satisfaction survey over the past seven years, at least 90 percent of CA parents have given the overall CA program a grade of “A” or “B.”
CA parents from across the country praise the CA educational program, its exceptional certified teachers, and high quality curriculum:
“Both of my children love Connections Academy. My son has made wonderful improvements, not only academically but also with his confidence. My daughter has moved up a grade level. She loves the challenge she gets from Connections Academy.”
