The Alliance for U.S. India Business (AUSIB) will partner with the India Retail Forum (IRF) and be a part of India Retail Forum 2010 to be held from September 28 to 29, 2010 in Mumbai, India.

AUSIB President, Sanjay Puri said, “AUSIB is pleased to associate with the Images Group to help in connecting potential partners from the U.S. market with those in the Indian market to explore opportunities in retail, investment in retail and encourage businesses like shopping centre development, supply chain management, logistics, shop fitting, etc., through the India Retail Forum.”

IRF 2010 will see market visionaries; retail captains and policy makers converge to discuss India’s consumption potential. They will discuss how modern retail can further escalate and channelize this consumption towards a multifaceted growth of the market, delivering maximum value and profits to every stakeholder. This year’s event will feature representatives from top companies including Adidas India, Reliance Retail, Shopper’s Stop Ltd., Benetton India, Levi’s India and Future Group.

The Indian retail industry has seen dramatic growth in the past decade. Currently, there are 12 million retail outlets in India, with nearly 5 million of them selling food and related products. The unorganized retail sector is expected to grow at about 10 percent per annum to reach $496 billion in 2011-12.
