2002 marks the twentieth anniversary of the publication of "Circle-A Deceit," the article that became the basis for The Baby And The Bathwater, the first book by Bob Black, author of The Abolition of Work, Beneath the Underground and Anarchy After Leftism.

The Baby and the Bathwater is Black's account of his conflict with Processed World, a trendy San Francisco-based magazine that had proclaimed itself to be "written by and for dissident office workers." Black, then a columnist for Appeal To Reason, penned a thoughtful, analytical review ("Circle-A Deceit") questioning the political motives behind Processed World.

Incensed at Black's line of questioning, PW began a campaign of harassment against the author in an attempt to silence, discredit and censor him, culminating in an attempt to get a judge to prohibit Black from writing about PW at all!

A modern classic of gonzo journalism, The Baby and the Bathwater documents the story in full including Black's correspondence and full documentation of PW's attempts to silence their critics. The Inspiracy Press edition includes Black's recent afterword, and has been expanded by contributions and corroboration from Gerry Reith (Neutron Gun), Anti-Authoritarians Anonymous, Feral Ranter, Stephanie Klein, Brian Kane and Lawrence Jarach.

The Baby And The Bathwater is available by mail for $12.50 postpaid. Order information is available at http://www.inspiracy.com/black/baby.html.
