MenuElephant.com is a new, exciting website that lists every restaurant, bar, coffee-shop or other type of eating or drinking establishment in the United States. It is completely free to use and allows restaurants to place themselves on the site for free. After filling out a simple form for creating a login, they can then also post their menu in JPG or PDF formats. They may also purchase a low-cost banner ad that appears near the top of the search results page.
MenuElephant.com is unique because it only lists restaurants with maps and menus. There are no reviews or blogs; just basic information that the user needs to help decide where to eat. It displays an easy-to-use format that allows visitors a quick way to find what they are seeking.
The initial search can be done using a city and state or zip code. Then users can choose to look by the actual restaurant name or category, such as Mexican or Italian. They can also pick any keyword such as vegetarian, burgers, or delivery. They next view a list of the available restaurants meeting that selected criteria along with a Google map and restaurant locations. They click on a listing to go to the next page where they see the restaurant details with a menu if it is posted. There is no membership fee or sign-up of any kind for the user or the restaurant, and the business owner can update their information in a few minutes. The site is paid for by Google ads, banners and nothing else.
MenuElephant is currently has listings of every restaurant in the United States. Future plans call for Canadian restaurants. In addition, restaurants without a website can publish a link to their menu page allowing them to advertise their business on coupons, the Yellow Pages, and other media.
MenuElephant was founded by Sue Marie and Jeffrey Hauser. MenuElephant refers to the largest land animal, hoping theirs will be one of the largest and most used websites in the hospitality industry.
