Through this CoN, one of many we’ve received for our software, we will be able to expand the benefits of Adobe LeanPrint throughout the enterprise. -- Barry Leffew, vice president of public sector sales, Adobe.

Carahsoft Technology Corp., the trusted government IT solutions provider and Adobe master GSA Schedule Partner, today announced that the U.S. Army has issued a Certificate of Networthiness (CoN) for Adobe LeanPrint, a software-only printing solution that dramatically reduces print costs using an innovative method to optimize paper and toner usage when printing from popular applications and browsers.
The certificate was issued in response to a request from the Yuma Proving Ground’s Network Enterprise Center. Networthiness Certification is concerned with the identification, measurement, control, and minimization of security risks and impacts in IT systems. All organizations fielding, using, or managing Information Systems on the Army Enterprise Architecture/LandWarNet (LWN), must obtain a Certificate of Networthiness before they connect hardware/software to the LWN.
“Adobe has a long and successful record of providing cost-effective, secure solutions to improve the productivity and efficiency of our nation’s warfighters and knowledge workers,” said Barry Leffew, vice president of Public Sector Sales, Adobe. “Through this CoN, one of many we’ve received for our software, we will be able to expand the benefits of Adobe LeanPrint throughout the enterprise.”
Adobe LeanPrint reduces costs by implementing patent-pending technologies that automatically fine-tune formatting, colors and layout regardless of the printing device — inkjet or laser, personal or networked printer. LeanPrint provides plug-ins to common desktop applications such as Adobe Acrobat®, Adobe Reader, and Microsoft® Office® and common browsers that typically account for the majority of printing in the organization. LeanPrint allows final output to be shown before the user sends the document to the printer ensuring visual assurance of a streamlined execution.
“The trials performed in conjunction with the CoN evaluation not only assured the security of the Adobe LeanPrint as an enterprise-wide solution, but also clearly demonstrated the substantial cost savings on printing to be realized through this implementation,” said Cortney Steiner, vice president of the Adobe Government team at Carahsoft. “We look forward to working with Adobe and our ecosystem of reseller partners to help the U.S. Army and other government agencies dramatically reduce printing costs through the deployment of LeanPrint.”
Adobe Lean Print is available on Carahsoft GSA Schedule No. GS-35F-0119Y. For more information, view an on-demand webcast: “Adobe LeanPrint: Save on Print Costs and Optimize Printing,” or contact the Adobe Government team at Carahsoft at 877-99ADOBE or adobe(at)carahsoft(dot)com.
