Prairie Living at Chautauqua, a BMA affordable assisted living community, is hosting an Island Paradise Senior Prom at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 3.
The community, which is located at 955 Villa Ct. in Carbondale, Illinois, serves older adults of all incomes, including those on Medicaid, who need some help to maintain their independence.
Students from Giant City Grade School in Carbondale will be assisted Prairie Living in hosting the prom.
“We invite older adults to shine up their dancing shoes and come and enjoy the music and dancing,” says Heather Laughland-Etherton, Administrator of Prairie Living. “This year, the theme of our Prom is Island Paradise.”
The prom is open to the public. There is no charge to attend.

Certified nursing assistants are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All three meals each day, housekeeping and laundry are among the included services.
“Residents also benefit from all of the opportunities that are available to socialize with friends and neighbors and to participate in activities and special events such as our annual Senior Prom,” says Etherton.
