Whilst there are big brands and companies on Facebook with millions of ‘Likes’, BBQBarbecues are more than happy to see the 2,000 milestone.
Considering the brand is relatively new and in a niche market which only appeals to people throughout the warmer months, racking up this kind of fan-base through Facebook is quite an achievement in itself. Couple that with the followers the company has on Twitter and it soon starts to add up to some serious numbers.
James Cook, E-Commerce Assistant at BBQBarbecues was keen to discuss their approach to Facebook: “We’d love to attack Facebook with full force and grow our social media presence even more, but it’s hard to find the time to dedicate to it when we’re stretched out over so many other projects. However, we’ve managed to keep the wheels turning and get to the two-thousand mark; hopefully if the summer months go well, we might well see 5k by the end of 2013.
“Over the next month or two we’re looking to integrate Facebook and other social platforms into the business more efficiently and this will hopefully allow us to provide shoppers with competitions and more offers through Facebook. This will act as both a reward for those who have shopped with us in the past and an aid in attracting new customers to the site!”
As the number of fans on the BBQBarbecues Facebook page continues to grow, it provides the staff with a clear sign that the business is heading in the right direction. If staff members are confident in the advancement of the business, job satisfaction and motivation will be higher; whereas when businesses regress, work-rate and motivation can drop significantly.
Ant Langston chimed in with something to bear in mind for the future: “To mark this small milestone, we’ll be looking to put on some promotions in the spring. So make sure to keep your eyes peeled for some decent deals and offers over the next few weeks or months.”
Until then, shoppers can entertain themselves by looking through the BBQ sale section on the website which contains a wide variety of brilliant offers which should tide most over until others become available...
