This certification has brought me knowledge that will benefit many patients who are struggling with painful musculoskeletal conditions in the Fayetteville community.
Fayetteville, North Carolina (PRWEB) June 19, 2013
BreakThrough Physical Therapy (BTPT) is proud to announce that Adam Autry, PT, DPT, OCS has received training and earned the professional designation of Orthopaedic Certified Specialist. This board-certification is granted by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists (ABPTS) and involves rigorous application and examination processes and provides assurance to patients and the medical community of Dr. Autry’s skills and abilities. Dr. Autry is recognized for advanced knowledge, experience, and skills in the practice of orthopaedic physical therapy and the conditions effecting bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles, and nerves. Dr. Autry provides physical therapy at the BTPT Fayetteville location on Ramsey Street.
Similar to physician specialization, there are eight specialty areas in which physical therapists can be board certified. Roughly 6.5% of the physical therapists in the United States are Board Certified in a specialty and only 3.9% of therapists in the United States are Orthopaedic Certified Specialists. Those with this advanced certification are considered to have a great depth of knowledge and skills in their specialty area of physical therapy.
“I now can treat patients with more complex conditions,” states Dr. Autry. “This certification has brought me knowledge that will benefit many patients who are struggling with painful musculoskeletal conditions in the Fayetteville community.”
Dr. Autry graduated from Elon University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in 2010. He received his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from Campbell University in 2007. He is currently a member of the Orthopaedic section of the American Physical Therapy Association. To further his orthopaedic training, Dr. Autry completed the Evidence In Motion Orthopaedic Residency program in early 2013 and is certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling, also known as intramuscular manual therapy. His professional interests include manual therapy and sports related injuries.
