Boundary Bathrooms conducts survey on toilet roll positioning

I’m actually a bit pedantic when it comes to this and I regularly change it to the ‘over’ position whenever I see it’s been put ‘under’ – even when I’m in someone else’s house!

Colne, Lancashire (PRWEB UK) 8 March 2013

It’s a question that has got the team at Boundary Bathrooms hotly debating which way is the best to do it; do you position your toilet roll with the paper going over or under? It may sound like a silly question, but when the company put the call out on Facebook and Twitter it surprisingly roused a lot of attention as it seems like people are quite divided on the matter. In fact, it’s a debate that has raged on for so long that Wikipedia even dedicates an entire page to it!

When Boundary Bathrooms asked the age-old question a whopping 80% on respondents said that they preferred the over orientation, with 15% saying under and the remaining 5% saying they didn’t really care. When asked why they chose ‘over’ respondents said it was easier to tear the sheets off and also made the bathroom feel more comfortable while proponents of the ‘under’ crowd said that it looked better from an aesthetic point of view. It all obviously comes down to personal preference, but the figures clearly show that ‘over’ is the more popular choice.

Thomas Mulrooney, marketing assistant at Boundary Bathrooms, gave his opinion on the matter “I’m firmly in the ‘over’ crowd on this one, and I’m actually a bit pedantic when it comes to this and I regularly change it to the ‘over’ position whenever I see it’s been put ‘under’ – even when I’m in someone else’s house! It just feels more zen like to me, it’s irritating if it’s not in the right position and it’s also far harder to tear the paper off in the first place”.

Then again, not everyone in the Boundary Bathrooms office was part of the ‘over’ crowd. Shaun Howarth-Blades, Internet Sales Advisor, gave his view “I always put it ‘under’, although to be honest I don’t really think much about it either way. Does it even matter?” According to the survey results, apparently people think it does matter!
