“This enhanced patient care is possible through the CareClix platform and modern-day device integration. Such technology will provide unprecedented clinical benefits to patients for disease management."
Fairfax County, Virginia (PRWEB) April 23, 2013
CareClix, a mobile health and telemedicine company based in the Washington, DC area, announces the release of a first-of-its-kind virtual medical examination kiosk named CareClix Exam. The medical examination cart is powered by CareClix as its core and incorporates up to 14 different FDA approved devices in order to transmit additional data into the CareClix core processor. Doctors may therefore remotely listen to breath or heart sounds anywhere in the world when a patient walks into one of these virtual examination rooms or examine a skin lesion remotely. “The potential medical benefits and enhanced patient care is possible through the CareClix platform and modern-day device integration. Such technology will provide unprecedented clinical benefits to patients for disease management,” states Sunil Budhrani, MD, MPH, CareClix’s Director of Medical Operations.
Using the CareClix platform as its core or "brain", CareClix Exam permits any brick-and-mortar examination room to be converted into a telemedicine suite with clinical data including blood pressure, pulse, pulse oximetry, temperature, skin, oral, and ocular findings to be obtained via FDA approved devices. With CareClix powering the system, an employer Medical Suite or a primary care doctor's office may provide an enhanced level of clinical care due to the additional medical information derived from these supplemental devices.
Additionally, using similar devices such as glucometers, cardiac scales, and blood-pressure monitors, patients may be remotely monitored from home by medical providers in order to insure their conditions are remaining stable and not worsening. The proprietary web-based software, CareClix Home, may be accessed by patients from home via their Patient Portal and this clinical information may be transmitted from their devices such as a blue tooth glucometer for diabetics, creating an alert to a provider remotely. In essence, the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) is taken to the next level, and an integrated delivery system enhances the physician-patient relationship.
CareClix Exam and CareClix Home represent exclusive products powered by the core CareClix processor. This makes CareClix and its technology unique in that it is the only integrated telemedicine platform providing a continuum of telehealth services-telephone and video access to a doctor 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to the virtual examination room, and to the patient centered medical home.
