Cleveland, Ohio (PRWEB) June 20, 2013
From Castle to Castle Films is seeking support for a documentary travel film titled: “Adventures in France: From Castles to Crepes.” Through the “GoFundMe” fund-raising platform, independent filmmakers, Jared Bendis and Amanda S. Almon, have raised 25 percent of their $25,000 goal. Travel vendors and people who support the arts, love castles, cathedrals and crepes, as well as educators and lovers of all things France are encouraged to view the film’s trailer at http://www.gofundme.com/Adventures-In-Culture.
The documentary travel film invites the viewer to join the filmmakers (both artists and educators) on a 30-day adventure in France -- covering its history, culture, food and art. Beginning July 6, 2013, the itinerary spans Northern France, the Loire and Western Central France, Southern France, Eastern Central France and culminates in Paris. The guided narrative and footage of 45 castles, 11 cathedrals, along with monuments, museums, food and cultural highlights will afford its audience an open travel invitation to experience France.
The feature length (90-120 minute) documentary will be in English with some interviews in French with English subtitles. The final film will be produced and distributed on Blu Ray / DVD, and available for streaming online.
“While the travel film is designed to be 'edutainment,' we are including the production of a supplement to mirror the film’s research,” said From Castle to Castle Film founder and co-director Jared Bendis. “The Educator's Resource Guide & Factbook will be produced as an on-demand print book and free eBook.” The guide will provide additional insights on a variety of French subjects including: culture, cuisine, language (on a practical and introductory level), world and art history. It will also include smart and economical travel tips to assist adults and students on their travel to France.
Online fundraising is a useful platform for creative projects to secure funding. It allows the public to be a part of a worthwhile project. Neither of the co-directors are taking any salary or artist fees. Reward incentives based on a sponsor or person’s donation can be found on the project’s GoFundMe page.
With airfare courtesy of the Maison Française de Cleveland fund, Bendis took a small crew to France to start the film in 2009. The expedition produced inviting footage and interviews. On this second expedition, Bendis and Almon intend to cast a wider net and include France’s prehistory, the ancient world, the modern world, and all manner of art, culture, and cuisine.
