MMI's approach is one of compassion, and as I created ‘Together’ I kept this idea in my mind. It has been my goal to mirror this compassion in my painting.

Medical Ministry International will host an event featuring the unveiling of a painting by Calgary Artist, Amy Dryer. The painting, "Together" features the work of Medical Ministry International. Dryer, a well known artist throughout North America based in Calgary, developed the piece after becoming aware of the work of the organization last year.

"I am impressed by the commitment of the doctors and staff of Medical Ministry International who dedicate their time and care to people in need. They travel throughout the world, reaching out to people who can’t afford medical treatment. MMI's approach is one of compassion, and as I created ‘Together’ I kept this idea in my mind. It has been my goal to mirror this compassion in my painting,” states Dryer. "I am influenced by the expressionist painters, their gestural, emotive approach to the canvas. ‘Together’ captures that ‘gesture of care’ that is the story of Medical Ministry International: a truly life-changing organization.”

"Amy Dryer is an artist of passion much like the people that serve with Medical Ministry International. We are very fortunate to have someone of Amy's stature and skill willing to capture the work of our volunteers and staff on canvas," states Samuel Smith, CEO of MMI. "Our Health Centers, Training Programs, and Project Teams impact lives on a regular basis and Amy has captured their work in a very powerful way! We are excited to be able to showcase Amy's work to our International Board and the Alberta community that has engaged MMI for many years."

The event is open to the public and will take place at the Bud Moore Studios, 1801 10th Ave SW Calgary, Alberta Canada T3C 0J8, on April 25, 2013 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
