A ribbon-cutting ceremony took place at Glenknoll School on April 18 for the unveiling of a new swing set.

Being able to help these boys get their dream off the ground is the kind of proactive involvement in our community that we foster a great deal of pride in.

The Edie Israel Team has made a name for itself not by simply being the foremost authority on Yorba Linda real estate, but also in their willingness to maintain active ties to the area’s community by hosting social events and giving charitable contributions to causes that have bettered the community as a whole.

This was never more apparent than in the response that Edie Israel and her team provided to a recent effort by a group of young boys who were looking to bolster the Yorba Linda community’s recreational activities.

Dismayed by a lack of swing sets for upper-graders at the Glenknoll School, Hale, Wyatt and Pierce Croft decided that they would campaign to raise enough money to put in a new swing set in their school’s playground. The boys and their family had recently moved to Yorba Linda, all the way from Charlottesville, Virginia.

So who did they go to for fundraising when they wanted to get their project off the ground? The real estate agent who had helped them buy their family’s Yorba Linda home, of course: Edie Israel.

Israel got the project up and running by donating enough for major equipment that helped the boys on their way to gaining over $11,500.

It all worked out for the best, as the boys and their mother, Cecia, who had done her fair share in getting the project off the ground, were able to cut the ribbon on the opening of a brand new, six-set red and blue swing set at Glenknoll School on Thursday, April 18.

“We aren’t just here as a business to help sell people homes,” said Israel of the feel-good story. “Our clients become a part of our community, and our community members are our neighbors and friends. Being able to help these boys get their dream off the ground is the kind of proactive involvement in our community that we foster a great deal of pride in.”

Israel’s team was on hand, as were the school’s superintendent and Yorba Linda’s mayor for the ceremonial ribbon cutting, as dozens of children flooded the newly adorned playground.
