GSky Plant Systems, Inc., a leading provider of vertical Green Walls in North America and the Middle East, has installed a Living Green Wall inside the recently launched American Express Centurion Lounge at McCarran International Airport. With the installation of the living Green Wall, GSky has introduced a new green design element that will transform the concept of deluxe airport club lounges.
The backbone of the Centurion Lounge’s Green Wall is GSky’s Versa Wall System, which is user-friendly, easy to install and maintain for any interior Green Wall. It employs 4-inch industry standard pots that can be placed directly into the Versa Wall tray to ensure instant plant coverage, offering flexible installation options and a variety of plant selections.
The Versa Wall is eco-friendly, customizable, durable and economical. Additionally, it has a recirculating irrigation system that is 100% water efficient and self-contained.
Upon entering the lounge, guests are greeted by a 150 square foot living Green Wall with 735 of 4 to 5-inch potted tropical plants made up of seven different species. The design of the Green Wall was inspired by an urban-jungle theme intended to breathe life into the airport through a wall of lush greenery. The distinct plant arrangement of the Green Wall results in a verdant oasis nestled inside a slick urban landscape.
With a unique balance of energy and peaceful ambiance, the new living Green Wall will cultivate a sense of calm in the lounge. Designed with the well-being of guests in mind, the Green Wall will help to relieve stress, reduce fatigue and improve the aesthetic experience for weary travellers.
