When Marine Cpl Nick Kimmel was injured by an IED while on duty in Afghanistan, the resulting outcome was a devastating triple amputation – the removal of both legs and one arm. With that, the Golden Meadows Retrievers breeding kennel is proud to have recently provided Kimmel with a top-flight service dog named Rush. The trained dog will be a lasting companion and assist the wounded Marine in his day-to-day life.

The loss of any single limb would test even the bravest soul but when Kimmel became a triple amputee in the wake of a gruesome service injury in Afghanistan, he had to learn life all over again. It was at this time that Kimmel began his yearlong search for a service dog and subsequently found trained golden retrievers for sale through the touted Golden Meadows Kennels in Ventura Country, CA and online at http://www.GoldenMeadowsRetrievers.com.

“We are very proud to have been able to assist Nick in the search for a service dog,” says Tim Hoke, one of the founders of Golden Meadows Retrievers. “We know him and Rush will make a wonderful team together.”

Upon meeting Rush, one of Golden Meadows fully trained young adult golden retrievers, Kimmel knew he had found the right companion and took the very special dog home with him to continue his education in service dog work.

In the end, Rush was chosen to fulfill this very important role in Kimmel’s life based on his intelligence, eagerness to please and calm demeanor and Golden Meadows Retrievers is honored to have played a part in introducing the pair.
