New 8x8 Cat5e/6 HDMI Matrix and 16x16 Cat5e/6 HDMI Matrix Solutions with HDBaseT outputs

KVMSwitchTech continues their push to provide the greatest flexibility and functionality for video system integrators with the introduction of their new high capacity HDMI Matrix Switch Product Line. Their new 16x16, 32x32, and 64x64 Cat5 HDMI Matrix Switches provide incredible power and flexibility for large installations. Because such large installations require large clusters of displays distributed over various distances, all of the outputs are configured by default with HDBaseT ports. This allows the signal to be transmitted with great clarity over distances that would be unfeasible with standard HDMI cables while still supporting important features such as Consumer Electronics Control (CEC). This is of course accomplished by using less expensive Cat6 cables (STP is recommended for optimal video quality). Because these units are configured for HDBaseT extension, they also include a full complement of HDBaseT receivers. This ensures that the entire kit is ready out of the box.

The 16x16 Cat5 HDMI Matrix Switch introduces dual, redundant, international power supplies. This feature should be familiar to anyone who has worked in mission critical environments such as server rooms and is included in the 32x32 Cat5 HDMI Matrix Switch as well as the 64x64 HDMI Matrix Switch. Alongside power redundancy other great feature to minimize downtime are hot swappable module cards. Each 4 port card can be replaced in the field in case of failure, but they can also be changed over to allow standard HDMI ports instead of HDBaseT.

Because the ability to control a matrix switch is an equally important feature, these new units come loaded with options. The primary controls are provided by front panel push buttons with a locking feature to prevent tampering. Many administrators, however, may not be present to physically make changes. That is why the new HDBaseT HDMI Matrix Switch product line includes integrated infra red, serial RS232 control and TCP/IP control via Ethernet.

Though they come pre-configured in 16x16, 32x32, and 64x64, these devices can be specially configured for any configuration such as 8x8, 16x8, 32x16, or however the customer may need them. KVMSwitchTech recommends that anyone who is planning such a configuration call and talk with a specialist to help configure the installation.
