Renowned Miami business executive Jon Hoffenberg is proud to be named to the Board of Directors for the Friends of Miami-Dade Public Library, an important charity in South Florida dedicated to promoting library excellence through special education and cultural programs.
The Miami-Dade Public Library was founded in 1974 with the goal of supporting the then emerging county library system. Today, the organization is dedicated to advocating, volunteering and raising funds for important programs promoting adult literacy, after school tutoring, exchanges programs and more. These include an Annual Charitable Gala at the main library downtown, the Art of Storytelling Festival, Children’s Book Week, Reading Ready, Summer Reading, Tales Under the Stars, Teen Read Week and more. Each year, the Friends put on a Book Sale to help raise funds for library education, cultural programs and to get books back out into the community. This is their biggest and most important fundraising event. To learn more, visit http://www.friendsofmdpl.org/book-sale/.
