MaxxCAT, a leading provider of high performance search appliances at a low price point, announced today that the months following the departure of the Google Mini from the market have resulted in a dramatic increase in both interest and sales.
The privately held company does not reveal exact sales figures, but expects to close out the year with more than 3-times as many units sold as the same period last year.

MaxxCAT’s search appliances differ from the Mini in several key areas including dramatically higher performance and unlimited document counts. MaxxCAT’s search appliances also offer expanded capabilities, such as the file share and database connectivity that many customers want.
MaxxCAT reports that two models have been popular with Mini owners. The EX-5000, an enterprise-level search appliance, is popular with customers looking to move beyond the limitations of their current appliance. This includes dramatically larger document counts and direct connections to many database types. The EX-5000 starts at $8,995, with a special Mini replacement package available for $9,995 that includes a hassle free conversion path.
Customers looking to replicate the features of the Mini on a budget have made the SB-250 a popular choice. At $2,995 the SB-250 offers the same functionality plus higher performance.
MaxxCAT plans to expand their line in the first quarter of 2013 in response to customer demand.
