Micron Optics, Inc., a global leading innovator and provider of fiber optic sensing systems and tunable laser technology, today announces the appoint of Dr. Brian J. Soller to its senior leadership team as Vice President of Marketing. Dr. Soller will be responsible for leading marketing efforts that will help the company expand its growth through new product initiatives, market penetration strategies, customer outreach, new business development activities and sales channel strategy.
Dr. Soller’s recent experience includes leading global sales and business development for Lightpath Technologies, a Nasdaq company focusing on optical components and subsystems. Prior to Lightpath, Dr. Soller spent ten years in fiber optics with Luna Technologies, a global supplier of fiber optic test, measurement and sensing equipment. At Luna – where he started as a developer and eventually oversaw all of product development, sales, marketing and operations – Dr. Soller’s strategies helped to establish the company as one of the leading suppliers of fiber optic measurement instrumentation in the world.
“Brian is a creative, profit-driven executive with a strong track record of success in generating marketing strategies to grow optical technology companies,” said Jeff Miller, President and CEO of Micron Optics, Inc. “Brian brings a wealth of knowledge to our team in the areas of product management, strategy development, international sales, business development, channel strategy and marketing. His unique combination of deep technical and market knowledge in optics, photonics and fiber optic sensing make him the ideal addition to our team as we continue to build our brand and hone our growth strategy.”
Dr. Soller commented, “I have known of Micron Optics’ high performance and quality products for the last decade and so I couldn’t be more excited to join the Micron Optics team. This is a thrilling time for fiber optic sensing as the technology continues to gain traction across multiple industries. Micron Optics is well positioned as the leader in several segments and I look forward to building on the successful platform that the team here has built as we grow the fiber optic sensing space.”
