Garden City, NY (PRWEB) March 19, 2013
The group of professional women discussed the Chapter’s involvement with three charity groups and their upcoming events: the Children’s Advocacy Center in March; the Susan G. Komen for the Cure walk in April; and the homeless shelter at Benton County in May.
NAPW Rogers Local Chapter President Ronni Towns kicked off the networking meeting by introducing members and guests.
After reviewing the January meeting minutes, the group discussed who would be attending the NAPW National Networking Conference in New York on April 26th.
“The NAPW National Networking Conference will be held Friday, April 26th in New York. It features keynote speakers Martha Stewart and Arianna Huffington,” she told the crowd. “It is free to all members. More details are available on napw.com.”
A discussion ensued about the Chapter’s participation in a number of worthwhile events.
In March, the group of professional women will support the Children’s Advocacy Center, which helps child abuse victims and their families.
On April 27th, the Chapter will be participating in the Susan G. Komen breast cancer walk in the Ozarks; and in May, members and guests will have the opportunity to volunteer at the homeless shelter in Benton County.
All agreed that fundraising opportunities will require more discussion and a committee member to lead each of the activities.
“The NAPW Rogers Local Chapter is looking forward to supporting these wonderful organizations and charities in the upcoming months,” said the Chapter President.
The Chapter’s official launch is tentatively scheduled for early March. Ideas for location, speakers, and event details were discussed at the February meeting. Members discussed advertising in the Walmart Women of Retail company announcement to continue to widen the networking opportunities for women in the area once the Chapter has launched.
Members and guests provided an overview of the businesses, boards of directors, and other organizations they are involved with in an effort to further help the Chapter with future endeavors.
Chapter President Ronni introduced a volunteer structure of having an Executive Director, Treasurer, Communications, Secretary, and Committee members.
“Each member can volunteer for a position to assist with helping our Chapter be more efficient,” said the Chapter President.
Ronni concluded the meeting by speaking briefly about the agenda for the March 27th meeting at Texas Land & Cattle at 6:00pm.
The venue is ideally located in the Promenade and offers an excellent meeting location and wonderful food.
