Colorado Springs, CO (PRWEB) May 02, 2013
The National Homeland Defense Foundation, the organization that brought government and industry together at The NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM on Homeland Security and Defense™, announced today that it is partnering with Ridge Global, an international security and risk management firm headed by former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge – to launch and host The NHDF Global Forum, a premier gathering of security experts from around the world.
The two-day thought leadership forum is designed specifically to bring together Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, industry, and international partners to discuss, discover, and make a meaningful impact on the national security of the United States and its allies – current and future.
Slated to take place in Washington, D.C. in early 2014, The NHDF Global Forum is intended to develop partnerships that will increase our capabilities to fight current and future threats. The Forum seeks to bring together strategic partners from across the globe, as well as DHS, DoD, and Department of State to discuss needs, best practices, lessons learned, and much more. High level government officials will be invited to address their respective countries needs and capabilities, threats they are tracking, and opportunities they foresee.
“Needless to say we are excited about the opportunity to partner with a respected organization such as Ridge Global,” says General Gene Renuart, Chairman of the Board for National Homeland Defense Foundation and Former Commander of US Northern Command. “Homeland security and defense is no longer a finite ‘us versus them’ game. We must build partnerships to increase our strategic and tactical capabilities as well as our partners. We believe that our theme ‘Fighting Future Threats: Building International Partnerships’ is a perfect opportunity to foster trust, cooperation, and capability.”
The NHDF Global Forum is also an opportunity for homeland security and defense industry to meet and network with some of the major national security and defense markets throughout the world. As sequestration looms, industry must look to international markets. The NHDF Global Forum will facilitate that bridge and also allows DoD and DHS to be an active part of that conversation.
“We’re seeing opportunity to develop strategic partnerships at an international level,” said Ridge. “By bringing these pinpointed countries together, we can strengthen our own national security. The NHDF Global Forum is the venue that can accomplish this.”
