Our world class faculty are experts in cutting edge neurologic techniques and have designed innovative instructional strategies and curriculum to develop the next generation of highly skilled neurologic physical therapists
Louisville, KY (PRWEB) November 14, 2012
The Louisville-based NeuroRecovery Training Institute (NeuroRTI), recently founded by a coalition of the industry's most influential and successful academics, entrepreneurs, clinicians, and researchers, has announced it is launching nationally-scaled, neurologic physical therapy training for licensed physical therapists. The NeuroRTI is an equal partnership between NeuroRecovery Ed, Evidence In Motion, and Phoebe Wood (former Vice Chairman and CFO, Brown-Forman).
NeuroRTI’s educational offerings will include a Neurologic Physical Therapy Residency, Transition Doctorate of Physical Therapy, Certifications and online Continuing Education courses that will include various topics related to neurologic conditions and injuries. The NeuroRTI will begin accepting applications for the first Residency and TDPT cohorts November 2.
“The vision of the NeuroRecovery Training Institute is to advance the outcomes of patients living with neurological injuries related to spinal cord dysfunction and acquired brain injury,” said NeuroRTI Founder Andrea Behrman, PT, PhD. “Our world class faculty are experts in cutting edge neurologic techniques and have designed innovative instructional strategies and curriculum to develop the next generation of highly skilled neurologic physical therapists.”
Translating neurologic research into effective activity-based therapies was pushed into the spotlight by the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation's NeuroRecovery Network (NRN). Many of the NeuroRTI founders are Co-Directors of the NRN and at the forefront of neuro-recovery research.
The NeuroRTI will align its vast partnerships with the NRN, Evidence In Motion and a network of clinics and hospitals such as the Frazier Rehab Institute to promote evidence-based program strategies through the use of a blended learning platform that includes online distance learning, onsite weekend intensives, and mentoring. Participants who successfully complete the necessary requirements will receive certifications and industry-recognized credentials.
