From May 13 to 15, 2013, Toronto will be the undisputed centre of the SharePoint world. For three days, the Hilton Toronto will be the site of the seventh SharePoint Summit. This exclusive training and networking event is the only one of its kind in Canada. KnowledgeLake, the SharePoint ECM Company, is proud to announce their involvement with the event as an Expo Partner.

“We are looking forward to being a part of this truly unique opportunity to connect with the Canadian SharePoint Community. This is a can’t-miss event for organizations looking to make the most of their SharePoint deployment,’’ said Kevin Ells, director of marketing at KnowledgeLake.

Built around the theme of evolution, innovation, connection, the conference’s 2013 edition will zero in on new developments. This will be the first Canadian SharePoint conference after the launch of the new, improved 2013 version of the SharePoint platform – always an eagerly anticipated release for the user community, because it only happens every three years.

“There’s always plenty of excitement at this conference in years when Microsoft releases a new version of SharePoint. Every participant is eager to learn about the platform’s new features and functionality, so they can make even better use of it to improve their productivity and that of their entire organization. This year, because Microsoft has launched Windows 8, the Surface tablet and Windows Phone 8, as well as SharePoint 2013, the conference will be especially content-rich for every user, from beginners to Super-Users. Our program of presentations and workshops will be more robust than ever,” said SharePoint Summit Chairman, Danny Boulanger.

Also new this year, SharePoint Summit 2013 will host the first SharePoint Excellence Gala, on Tuesday, May 14 at the Hilton Toronto. The event will be the culmination of a new excellence competition designed to recognize the best solutions developed with the SharePoint platform in eight categories, including the SharePoint Excellence Grand Prize.

“The SharePoint Excellence Gala will help the industry, its companies and its people in the Canadian business community and beyond showcase their skills and talent,” said Lillian Beauregard, VP communications and marketing for SharePoint Summit. “The SharePoint community is highly dynamic. Innovation is in its DNA, so this event is a logical step for the Summit, which has steadily grown in popularity since its first edition. Not only will the Gala give the nominees an excellent showcase both within and outside the community, it will encourage even more ingenuity, inventiveness and creativity among developers.”

SharePoint Summit 2013 will stand out from previous editions thanks to new activities reflecting its exceptional vitality and relevance for the industry. Following are the main new activities in addition to those mentioned above:

  • Training sessions in the new version of SharePoint
  • Specialized training sessions for Super-Users
  • More case study workshops to spread SharePoint expertise grounded in experience
  • More sessions for managers, information architects and project managers
  • A new, more modern venue in the Hilton Toronto, featuring up-to-date high-tech facilities
  • The new ShareLounge, where participants can network with their peers and leading-edge technology companies

The SharePoint Summit is open to any company, user or individual with an interest in the SharePoint platform. To get all the news as the event approaches, visit the event website.
