Silverback Learning Solutions, an educator-founded technology company and developer of Mileposts™, a results-driven educational system installed in schools K-12 nationwide, today announces a partnership with AESA, The Association of Educational Service Agencies, whose mission is to support and strengthen regional educational service agencies (ESAs) across 45 states in the United States. The agreement with AESA will introduce and market Mileposts for the first time to all educational service agencies, which look to the AESA as a “seal of approval” for recommendations on educational resources that meet the highest standards. Mileposts is a cloud-based learning solution designed to erase the achievement gap and raise the level of success for all students, regardless of socio-economic status or learning ability by allowing teachers to easily create individualized (personalized) learning plans at the point of instruction for all their students, based expressly on each student’s learning needs.
“Our national partnership reflects a prestigious and vast distribution opportunity that will introduce Silverback Learning Solutions as a trusted resource for ESA’s and school districts throughout the U.S.,” said Dr. Jim Lewis, CEO of Silverback Learning. Partnering with AESA represents a significant milestone for Silverback Learning as it validates both the quality and value that our technology, as well as the educational ideals our company is dedicated to achieving. We look forward to rapidly expanding Mileposts utilization through such a credible national distribution network to drive personalized learning and achievement results in school districts nationwide.”
Silverback Learning Solutions recently partnered with Gooru, a Silicon Valley company to identify students’ needs and offer them relevant online learning materials. Gooru provides immediate access to the best online resources, such as teacher videos, digital textbooks, quizzes and games, and is also aligned to these important assessment standards. Mileposts integrates with Gooru’s search engine to pinpoint the educational areas where students are struggling, and suggests the most appropriate free learning materials. Gooru's search (http://www.goorulearning.org) taps into millions of free, safe digital learning resources, and currently covers 5th-12th grade math, science and social science topics, with plans to expand to K-12 reading, language arts and additional subjects.
Educational service agencies across the nation will now have the ability to demonstrate the availability and accessibility of the vast network of community-curated learning resources on Gooru through Silverback’s Mileposts instructional improvement system. Mileposts’ integration of Gooru capabilities will allow educators to customize and share their favorite open educational resources according to student needs via individualized learning plans and interventions. From any PC, tablet or smartphone, families will also be able to access high-quality, safe online resources and match it to their children’s needs through a web portal synchronized to their school’s Mileposts system.
“One of the most critical responsibilities that AESA has is to ensure that ESA’s and schools have access to the most advanced educational products and services that meet our stringent testing and highest quality standards,” said Lee Warne, Executive Director, AESA. We only select the best of the best as our national AESA partners, and are confident Silverback Mileposts will play a significant role in assisting how districts aggregate and organize their existing student data, course curriculum, instruction, and student assessment systems, so that they can comprehensively understand how the data from each of these systems contributes to the full process of helping students achieve greater personalized learning success.”
