Jones has been boxing for 11 years and competes in the 165-pound Senior Open Division. He has a career overall record of 71-24 and has proven himself among the top amateur fighters in Texas by competing in regional Golden Gloves tournaments, which feature young, up-and-coming fighters.
After defeating two opponents in this year’s Dallas Golden Gloves Tournament on Jan. 22-25, Jones advanced to compete in the Texas State Golden Gloves Tournament, which will be held Feb. 27-March 2 at the John Justin Arena in Fort Worth. The top performers at the Texas State Tournament will advance to the National Golden Gloves Tournament in Salt Lake City, Utah in May. Tournament fights consist of three three-minute rounds.
Jones is one of five trainers at Title Boxing Club Rowlett along with Apollo Sample, Chris Jones, Chris Danforth and Kelsey Synatchk.
Jones trains for competition at Texas Select Boxing Club, where his trainers are Christine and Jahaziel Lopez.
