Innovative culinary artist Chef Daphne Cheng is hosting the grand opening of her new supperclub and culinary academy on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 8:00 pm. Suite ThreeOhSix focuses on exquisite dishes that are sure to excite and appeal to everyone’s taste.
Suite ThreeOhSix Supperclub and Academy teaches recreational cooking classes and offers dinners with secret, ever-changing menus. Shifting from current uninspired menus where vegetables are too often neglected and relegated to side dishes, Chef Daphne is a pioneer in haute, plant-based cuisine and aims to challenge the status quo by expanding the idea that vegetables can be the centerpiece of a meal. She uses her culinary expertise to create fresh, original cuisine that is foremost delicious, as well as nutritious.
“I created Suite ThreeOhSix to empower enthusiastic foodies and professional chefs alike with the culinary know-how to create mouth-watering, vegetable-centric cuisine that is good for both your tastes buds and your body,” says Chef Daphne, whose previous clients include Vera Wang, Alec Baldwin, Peter Max and John Bartlett.
Suite ThreeOhSix culinary academy offers a variety of classes for food enthusiasts of all skill levels.
Workshops and demos offered range from “How to Boil Water,” a cooking basics workshop for beginners, knife skills, a “Molecular Gastronomy – Caviar” demo for the more advanced, and specialty food tastings.
Workshops offer hands on experience and are limited to eight students per class to ensure individual attention. Demos, limited to 16 per class, allow students to observe professional chefs doing what they do best.
The supperclub will host dinners on select Saturdays featuring a different, unannounced menu each time. The dinners are limited to 16 guests to preserve an intimate dining experience. The premiere dinner will be May 25, 2013 at 7:00 pm and will feature an undisclosed six-course meal showcasing the best of the farmer’s market.
Located at 59 Franklin Street, Suite ThreeOhSix is a chic 1500 square foot loft in TriBeCa. With high ceilings and oversized windows, the loft is beautifully designed with white Roman columns, dark chocolate hardwood and original red oak flooring, and high gloss white and chrome accents. The space is built out with a commercial kitchen that has a modern induction range for energy efficient cooking and an open area for hosting dinners and cocktail parties.

Chef Daphne attended the University of California, Berkeley where she studied Nutritional Science, and completed her professional culinary training in New York City. She is certified in Plant-Based Nutrition through Cornell University. She founded Verite Catering, a high-end plant-based catering company and has served many various corporations, small businesses, high-profile individuals, and nonprofits. Chef Daphne specializes in eclectic, contemporary cuisine that offers glimpses of her Asian heritage.
